FRIDA KAHLO
Who I Am
I’m Diva Almeida, usually D Almeida or just D (as I like it most) and I have been a freelance final-art professional since 1997 for all kind of printing technique – mostly screen printing, letterpress printing and offset printing, serving graphic standards manuals from Spain, France, England and Portugal. I’ve been also an editorial designer for more than 15 years and a web designer since 2006 when flash websites were still dominant and after a few years developing in html5, I eventually surrendered to CMS – first Blogger, then Joomla, finally WordPress and always WordPress.
Since 2020 I’ve decided to dedicate myself exclusively to the illustration activity, publishing my own artwork and using all my web technical knowledge in terms of my own online projects. My artistic work ended up being very influenced by this activity as a final artist for 25 years so that most of the artwork displayed on this website is about vectorized flat color models for application in any printing, reproduction or cutting technique.
Thematically, my artwork is also deeply influenced by a more remote past as a Graham and Classical Ballet student as well as 7 years of musical education that intensely covered about 12 years of my life, from childhood to majority.
I’m a big fan of all arts and an enthusiast for sports, mother Nature and technology. This website intends to be not only a place for publishing and selling my artistic work, but also for sharing some technical knowledge and inspirational matters through the Blog.
Thank you for stopping by, welcome to d-art.work.
D-Art is my personal created brand, a small project from a final artist career
I talk about techniques and concepts linked to printing world, especially screen printing – mainly hand screen printing for the purpose of artistic production; I also talk about graphic tools, with a focus on open and free software. I would like to create some weekly or monthly challenges… Well, let’s keep working :).
